South Boston Speedway

South Boston Speedway or “SoBo” is a short track located just outside South Boston, Virginia, USA. A mecca for southern Virginia short-track racing for over half a century, SoBo today bills itself as “America’s Hometown Track.” SoBo opened it’s gates in 1957 as a quarter-mile dirt track.

Configurations

South Boston Speedway’s current configuration is 4/10 miles (0.644 km) with 12 degrees of banking in the turns and 10 degrees on its 360-yard straightaways. The 45-foot width helps passing and keeps the racing close.
