It’s easy to lump Chicagoland Speedway’s 1.5 mile (2.41 km) oval with the bevy of so-called “intermediate” ovals across the country, but Chicagoland’s layout is unique. It’s an oval that never truly straightens out thanks to a couple of kinds on the front stretch and a backstretch that is one long, continuous curve. Chicagoland Speedway has 18 degrees of banking in the turns with 11 degrees of banking on the frontstretch and 5 degrees on the back.
